What It Means to Be a Root 66 Ranger
Rangers are active participants, not observers. Each child takes part in caring for the garden, feeding animals, preparing food, and exploring the natural world.

They build confidence by doing real tasks that matter.

Daily Experiences
Each day includes a mix of hands-on learning, movement, and creativity.

🌱 Garden Work
Kids plant, water, harvest, and care for their own garden space throughout the week.

🐓 Animal Care
Daily feeding and care for chickens and ducks while learning responsibility and respect.

🥕 Food & Kitchen Skills
Hands-on food prep and simple meals using garden ingredients when available.

🐞 Nature Exploration
Exploring insects, soil, birds, compost, and natural systems through observation and discovery.

🎨 Arts & Creativity
Nature-based projects kids can take home at the end of the week.

Weekly Flow
Each morning starts with time in the children’s garden and a short group circle.

Monday – Garden Skills
Tuesday – Animal Care
Wednesday – Harvest & Kitchen Day
Thursday – Nature & Creativity Day + Family

*On Thursdays at 12:00 PM, families are invited to a short showcase to see what the children created and learned throughout the week.

The Children’s Garden
Root 66 Rangers help build and care for a dedicated children’s garden space.

Kids may paint, plant, and shape a space designed just for them, something that will continue to grow and serve future programs, field trips, and workshops.
