FoodShare

Nourishing Families, One Harvest at a Time

🥕 At The Root 66 Garden, we believe everyone deserves access to fresh, nutritious food—regardless of circumstances. That’s why we created the FoodShare Educational Co-op: a hands-on, community-based program where we grow together, share together, and give back together.

When you join, you are invited to participate in one beginning agriculture workshop per month and commit to four hours of garden work each month, helping to plant, maintain, and harvest your own food from our shared plots. In return, you take home a portion of the harvest, while any excess produce is donated to local food banks and families in need, ensuring nothing goes to waste and everyone benefits. From seasonal vegetables, herbs, and eggs to garden-grown fruits, our bounty nourishes both your family and your neighbors.

How it works:
🌱 Commit to 4 hours/month helping with garden tasks such as planting, weeding, harvesting, or packaging, in addition to attending the monthly agriculture workshop.

💰 Individuals: $150/year, Families: $250/year (ask us about payment arrangements)

🥗 Receive your share of fresh, seasonal produce each week (or as harvest allows).
📚 Attend educational workshops to build your gardening knowledge and skills.

🤝 Any produce beyond what co-op participants receive is donated to local food banks and families in need.

🌸 Grow your skills, strengthen your connection to the community, and help support a sustainable local food system.

Why join?
🍎 Eat fresh, garden-grown food for your family.

💖 Give back to neighbors in need through donations of excess produce.

🌿 Learn gardening, harvesting, and collaborative skills in a supportive environment.

🌻 Connect with others, reduce stress, and participate in meaningful community work.

🌾 Support The Root 66 Garden’s mission of sustainability and food access.

🌸 Grow with us—feed your family, support your community, and be part of something bigger.

🌻 Want to see the garden in person first?
