🌿 Field Trips at The Root 66 Garden

A Fun, Hands-On Learning Experience for Elementary Students

“Returning to Our Roots” brings classroom learning alive with fresh air, growing plants, friendly animals, and real-world connections to nature’s cycles. Located in the heart of Rancho Cucamonga, our garden offers a vibrant outdoor classroom where students explore sustainability, biodiversity and food-systems in action.

What Students Will Experience

On their visit, students will have the opportunity to:

🐝 Discover how bees pollinate and support the growth of plants in our garden

🐔 Meet and feed our chickens and ducks, fostering empathy, responsibility and observation skills

🌱 Plant seeds to take home and track their growth—connecting to life-cycles and science of plants

💧 Explore composting, water-conservation, and practices that support healthy soil and ecosystems

🍓 Tour our vegetable garden, orchard, vineyard and learn how humans, animals and plants work together

Every activity is crafted with elementary learners in mind—interactive, safe, curious-inviting and aligned with science, environment-education and garden-learning goals.

Registration Form

1. Participation Acknowledgment

I understand that participation in garden field trips involves outdoor activities which may include contact with soil, plants, animals, tools, and other natural elements. I acknowledge that while all reasonable safety precautions are taken, participation involves inherent risks including but not limited to slips, trips, falls, insect bites, and exposure to environmental elements

2. Medical Authorization

In the event of illness or injury, I authorize The Root 66 Garden staff to obtain emergency medical treatment deemed necessary for my child. I agree to be responsible for any resulti medical expenses.


3. Hold Harmless & Liability Release

I, the undersigned parent/guardian, hereby release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless The Root 66 Garden, their officers, employees, and volunteers from any and all liability, claims, or demands arising from participation in this program, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.


I understand that this release applies to all claims for injury, illness, or damage to property occurring during, or as a result of, participation in this field trip

4. Mediation Agreement

In the event of any dispute arising out of or related to this agreement or participation in this program, both parties agree to resolve the matter through mediation conducted in San Bernardino County, California, before pursuing any other legal remedy. No lawsuits or court actions shall be filed by either party until mediation has been completed in good faith.

5. Parent/Guardian Acknowledgment

By signing below, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to the terms of this registration and liability agreement.
